Bono posted a clip of the new song to Instagram.
We’ve all seen those memes that have been circulating online by now – the ones that tell us who did what while being cooped up at home.
For example, there are claims that Sir Isaac Newton laid the foundations for his laws of motion while working from home during a pandemic and famous playwright William Shakespeare wrote King Lear when quarantined.
Well, Bono has once again proven that great works can indeed come out of working from home, posting a clip of Let Your Love Be Known to the official U2 Instagram account.
Dedicating the song to “the Italians who inspired it” as well as his fellow Irishmen (and women), Bono captioned the video:
“For ANYONE who this St. Patrick’s day is in a tight spot and still singing. For the doctors, nurses, carers on the front line, it’s you we’re singing to.”

Broadcast from his home in Dublin, Bono describes the song as “little postcards from bubblin Dublin of a St. Patrick’s Day”, claiming to have made it up just an hour ago.
With the country essentially on lockdown, the lyrics pay tribute to the empty streets of the capital – a strange sight at any time of year but particularly on Paddy’s Day.
