Wild Mountain Thyme made the top ten most searched for movies, but it was not the MOST searched movie for 2020.
Considering how 2020 turned out, with more people at home and spending more time with their devices, constantly looking for new information and stimulation, it should come as no surprise that Ireland’s lists of Most Googled search terms for 2020 would be quite eclectic.
It does come as a surprise that “Coronavirus” itself wasn’t the most searched for term, but that just goes to show how odd a year we’ve been having. Or, at least, how bizarre the 2020 US Election continues to be.
But the presence of the Coronavirus can be felt in almost every other list, down to people Googling how to cut their own hair, to making their own banana bread.
There were some other results published, such as most Googled TV shows (Normal People at the top, unsurprisingly), as well as recipes (brown bread all the way), but here are some of the more revealing top tens for Google searches in Ireland for 2020.
