Daniel O'Donnell

Aye, wee Daniel is getting his own show.

TG4 has announced plans for a new at-home entertainment show, with Daniel O’Donnell as its host. Aptly titled Daniel Sa Bhaile, the show will bring viewers into Daniel’s own home where he’ll be joined online by a host of different guests.

Launching in early June (June 7th to be exact), Daniel will chat to host of different guests – singers, musicians and locals amongst them. Asking them about all lockdown life entails, he’ll be getting the scoop on everything from newfound quarantine hobbies they’ve picked up to their favourite biccies… or at least that’s how I imagine a conversation with Daniel would go anyway.

Episode one will see Daniel chat to Irish singer Moya Brennan, who will join the Donegal man (virtually, of course) to discuss Clannad’s farewell tour. Celebrating half a decade in the biz, the group has had to put plans on hold for the time being due to Covid-19.

Other guests set to join Daniel include his wife Majella who will kick things off on the first episode with a hula hooping class of all things – anything to beat the boredom, I suppose – along with Philomena Begley, Derek Ryan, a couple who had to postpone their wedding and his pal Gloria Hunniford.

Lots to look forward to there. Catch Daniel O’Donnell every Sunday evening at 6:40pm on TG4.
