Dublin restrictions mean changes for this week’s Gogglebox line-up

James Fenton

Gogglebox Ireland will see a change to its line-up this week as Covid-19 risk level 3 restrictions remain in place in Dublin.

Last week, the capital entered level 3 of Covid-19 restrictions and Gogglebox Ireland cast members aren’t immune to the new rules. The much-loved series returned to our screens a fortnight ago with all social distancing measures of the time being adhered to. However, last week’s news that Dublin will be at level 3 until October 9 means that the popular Cabra girls are set to lose a member.

The rules for Dublin state that a maximum of six people from any one household can visit another home at any given time. This means that one member of the Cabra quartet will have to be removed due to the fact that they come from three different households – sisters Ashley and Gráinne live together and are usually joined by friends Jamie and Lindsay.

Speaking about the changes, Jamie said: “It’ll be weird doing it with just three of us but we’re all in this together, so what can you do? I don’t think it’ll stop us from saying what we think and hopefully, it won’t be for too long!”

Viewers will be hoping the same but for now we’ll just have to get used to the Cabra girls being down a member. You can catch Gogglebox Ireland on Wednesdays at 9pm on Virgin Media One.
