Gavin James was due to perform a number of drive-in gigs this summer, however, he’s taken to Twitter today to announce that he’s been forced to cancel them amid ongoing Covid-19 concerns.
The singer first announced plans for a number of drive-in gigs back in May, however, Gavin James has since taken to social media to reveal that they will not be able to go ahead due to ongoing Covid-19 concerns.
Posting a short clip to Twitter to explain the situation, he can be heard saying:
“Hey everybody. So I have some sad news, some bad news today about the drive-in shows… all the drive-in shows have been cancelled from today. So the first one would have been on Friday and yeah, it sucks.
It’s been many months of work put into these gigs and getting the crews and getting the security and getting everybody back out doing what they do for the first time in a while. So it’s quite saddening that it’s not happening.”

Originally due to play dates in four locations across Ireland (Limerick, Cork, Waterford and Kilkenny), all concerts have had to be cancelled and fans can get a refund for their tickets from their point of purchase.
Adding that it’s a “shame these gigs aren’t happening”, fans can still get their Gavin James fix this Friday night as he’ll be putting on a home concert instead. Not half as good as seeing him live but it will have to do for now.
