Filming for the new season of The Great British Bake Off will commence from next week.
Things are slowly getting back to 'normal' with many people around the world returning to work after months of uncertainty, including the production team behind the Great British Bake Off who will begin work on a new season of the show next week.
Both cast and crew were required to quarantine for a period of 14 days prior to filming and show bosses have said that filming will be stopped immediately should anyone fall ill during production. This comes after Channel 4 struggled to secure insurance cover for the show. According to reports, a source for the show said:
"If one person goes down with coronavirus, then everyone on set has to quarantine, the whole production is thrown into jeopardy and it’s a massive risk for small companies to take. ‘We are hoping that the government and big broadcasters will step up and carry some of that risk. We can’t physically do it without insurance."
