If Walford Town FC are looking for a new manager in the near future then they might just have found their man in FA Cup-winning gaffer Harry Redknapp.

Reports in the UK have suggested that I’m A Celebrity 2018 winner Harry Redknapp could be joining up with the cast of EastEnders. A well-renowned East End boy, Harry is ‘close to landing an acting role” on the soap, according to a report in The Mirror. A source told the publication that “Harry will be a great addition to EastEnders. Even though he has no traditional acting experience, his character and charm are more than enough to stand him in good stead on the show. And with him growing up in the real East End, it makes it even better.”

Harry Redknapp grew up in the Poplar area of East London and went on to make his name as a professional footballer. It was in the dugout though where he achieved his greatest successes, establishing West Ham United and Portsmouth as Premier League forces before guiding the latter to FA Cup success in 2008. He later took on the Tottenham Hotspur job, leading the London club to the Champions League quarter-final in 2011. The affable manager achieved mainstream popularity when he was crowned King of the Jungle in 2018.

After Max Branning departed Albert Square on Friday, perhaps we’ll have a new heartbreaker in town? Most likely not, if Harry’s character displays the kind of affection for his other half as Redknapp famously does towards his wife Sandra.

If this all gets finalised, we’re looking forward to seeing how he gets on with the locals in the Queen Vic.
