Due to celebrate their 10th anniversary on July 23rd, One Direction has finally revealed what they have in store delighting fans with news of a new website, a brand new celebratory YouTube video, reformatted EPs and streaming partner activations. All very exciting.

Former members of boyband One Direction have been keeping fans on their toes over the past few weeks. Gearing up for a milestone birthday later this month, Directioners have been trying to figure out what exactly they have in store to celebrate and well, now we finally have answers.

Naturally, fans were hoping that the original five-piece would get back together but unfortunately, that doesn’t look like it’s on the table with the group instead marking the occasion by launching a new 1D anniversary website, a 10-year celebration video and interactive playlists and activations across digital platforms.

A special 10 Years of One Direction website will launch on July 23rd charting the history of the group form their first audition right up to the very end of their time together. There, followers will find an archive of old music videos, fan artwork, interviews, behind-the-scenes content and other such never-seen-before footage.

You’ll also be able to create your own shareable ‘mixtape’ playlist on the site – personalised according to what you’ve interacted with on the site and the eras you’ve spent the most time exploring.

Not quite the reunion news we were all expecting but better than no 10th-anniversary celebration at all.

Group members have yet to comment on the announcement but we all know Nialler is usually fairly active on social media (sure wasn’t he flat out doing Instagram lives during lockdown?), so surely he’ll break his silence fairly soon. Watch this space.
