Here’s Where The Most Popular Place To Go On A First Date In Ireland Is

Where do you usually go on a first date? Would you suggest a sober coffee date, or (god forbid) the cinema?

Well, apparently the majority of Irish people like to take a lil trip down to their local to break the ice over a pint or two.

According to a new survey, carried out by the Vintners’ Federation of Ireland, the pub is the most popular place for a first date in Ireland, with over half of the people questioned choosing that as their top spot.

Buzz.ie report that the pub is also the most popular place for family events, such as birthday parties, christenings and post-funeral drinks.

As for more fun pub facts, over half of the people in the survey said they visit their local at least once a week, with 80% of those who do saying they meet up with friends or family while they’re there.

90% of people said that pub heritage was worth preserving in Ireland, and a huge 60% said the pub plays a vital role in local communities around the country.
