Christmastime officially starts when Christmas FM lands on Irish radio airwaves.

And that means that Christmastime begins on Thursday, when we will be treated to our annual fix of Fairytale of New York.

Christmas FM starts broadcasting on FM in Ireland at 1pm on November 28 and will keep us singing along with Mariah Carey until December 27, although the station will continue online and on digital until December 31.

  • Dublin city and county – 105.2FM
  • Cork city – 106.7FM
  • Limerick city – 105.5FM
  • Galway city – 87.7FM
  • Clare – 105.2FM
  • Sligo – 95FM

Virgin Media Digital TV subscribers in Ireland can listen to Christmas FM on Channel 900. The station can also be accessed online and via their mobile apps.

Christmas FM’s charity partner for 2019 is Barretstown, the organisation that serves children and families affected by serious illnesses.

Garvan Rigby, co-founder of Christmas FM, said: “Barretstown is a very special organisation and we are delighted to be partnering with them for Christmas FM this year. The radio station creates a feel-good festive factor that is unrivalled anywhere else, and we look forward to sharing that with everyone at Barretstown – campers, parents, staff and volunteers – as well as our listeners.

“As sponsorship pays the running costs of the radio station, this means that all monies raised on air through donations can go directly to Barretstown and we look forward to raising as much as possible this year for such a worthy cause.”
