IFTA nominations – Normal People leads the way as Nicola Coughlan also recognised for Bridgerton

Normal People tops the list of IFTA nominations this year, with 15 in all for the drama which had the world gripped last spring.

The IFTA nominations for Normal People include best actor for Paul Mescal, Best Director for Lenny Abrahamson and Best Drama. While Mescal will be high on confidence after his recent BAFTA win, he faces competition from the a prestigious quartet in his IFTA category, namely:

Adrian Dunbar – Line of Duty Season 6
Brendan Gleeson – The Comey Rule
James Nesbitt – Bloodlands
Michael Smiley – Dead Still

Meanwhile, Nicola Coughlan is nominated in the Best Supporting Actress category for her role in Bridgerton and she will be up against:

Fiona Shaw – Killing Eve
Gemma-Leah Devereux – Smother

Sarah Greene – Normal People
Seána Kerslake – Smother
