The Free Britney movement has been trending online for some time now, however, things have really come to a head since the premiere of a new documentary on the matter.
Called
Framing Britney Spears, the documentary debuted on US streaming platform Hulu earlier this month. Part of a New York Times investigative series, the 75-minute special explores different parts of the singer's life - specifically honing in on the Free Britney movement and the legal ramifications of her father's conservatorship.
Causing quite the stir amongst fans, the documentary has sparked concerns over a number of different topics, also calling into question the media's treatment of the star over the years (as well as other well-known female celebrities in general).
Making its online debut exclusively on Hulu, many Irish fans have been wondering how they can tune in, but wonder no more as Framing Britney Spears will be available to watch on TVs across the country from tomorrow.
Coming to Sky and the
NOW TV Entertainment pass on February 16th, network officials described it as "THE documentary to watch this year".
"
Britney Spears' father has been in control of her life since 2008. Now her lawyer & a tribe of loyal fans are campaigning to #FreeBritney from a court-sanctioned conservatorship. Watch #FramingBritneySpears on Sky Documentaries and
@NOWTV, 16 February, 9pm."
