Irish Women in Harmony

Irish Women in Harmony first popped up on our radar back in June, when 39 top Irish female artists and musicians teamed up for a cover of the popular Cranberries song Dreams. Joining forces in support of domestic abuse victims, the track was released as a charity single for Safe Ireland.

Headed up by Grammy-Award-nominated singer RuthAnne, the project features the superb vocal stylings of artists such as Tolu Makay, Imelda May, Róisín O and Erica Coady. Managing to raise over €200k for the charity, the song has received consistent radio time since its release with the collaborative group even going on to perform the track on the season opener of the Late Late Show.

Now confirming plans to record a special Christmas song, the Irish Women in Harmony are looking for young girls to join them on the recording. Putting a call out for 12 young female singers to lend their vocals to the project, submissions are open to all girls under the age of 12.

Anyone who thinks that they have what it takes is asked to submit a 30-second clip of them singing Dreams via email/Instagram post – making sure they have the permission of a parent or guardian first.

Entries are open until midnight on Wednesday, September 30th and the 12 lucky winners will be selected by RuthAnne and members of the Irish Women in Harmony project.
