Ireland’s Got Talent has been going down a treat so far, with the audience falling in love with the likes of 81-year-old Evelyn from Tallaght and the deaf choir from Cabra.
As usual there are some nay sayers out there, but people have been really taken aback by some particular comments.
One viewer took to Twitter to voice her anger at the number of gay people on the show, including Ireland’s Got Mór Talent presenter James Kavanagh.
“My children were so confused watching this nonsense this evening. A man in women’s clothes with a terrible act, followed by a gay so-called joker to an overtly gay presenter …The list goes on. It was awful,” she wrote.
Snapchat star James hit back, writing: “You are absolutely foul, @DrCollins10. The fact you have children is TERRIFYING. Hopefully they grow up to be absolutely nothing like you.”
James’s mum and Denise Van Outen also jumped to his defense:
Dear “Doctor” Collins; as a very proud mother of 3 – one being @JamesKavanagh_ I am disgusted to read this from a young mother. I’m only hoping your children get some outside influences to avoid growing up to be as hateful as you.

Homophobia. Not a great example to your children

Many other Twitter users have also offered their support to James.
I actually don’t understand how someone can be this ignorant!

I know we don’t need to tell you but keep doing YOU. You’re an inspiration to the young teens who are in that phase of acceptance of themselves. To have someone there on TV unashamedly proud is EVERYTHING we need!!! #GotTalentIRL
