Jamie Dornan is busy working on a new script for a movie set in Belfast

Jamie Dornan has revealed that he’s been working on a script with one of his pals for a new movie set in Belfast.

Dad of three Jamie Dornan has been fairly busy over the past few months what with homeschooling his children, commenting under Paul Mescal’s Instagram photos and working on a new script. No rest for the wicked as they say.

Chatting to fellow Down man Philip Reynolds on The Lockdown Podcast, Dornan revealed what he’s been up to the past few months saying that he’s been cooking up a new project with one of his best mates… when he’s not trolling Paul Mescal on social media that is.

The actor has apparently taken quite a fondness to the Normal People star, commenting under one of his Instagram posts and calling him a ‘ride’. Don’t think he had many disagreeing with him either, but that’s beside the point.

Admitting that he’s always been a bit of a risk-taker, Dornan confirmed that he’s actually been working on two new scripts – one of which he hopes will get a home premiere whenever it’s ready.

“I’m glad I’ve taken the risk to do it and put my time and energy into doing it when I wasn’t homeschooling the kids… one I’ve written with a mate of mine from Belfast and it’s getting a bit of traction.”

Adding that they’re “tidying up” the third draft of the script, the actor said that he has a tendency to get ahead of himself but would be delighted to see the movie come to life within the next two years.

“We just want to make sure we have it right and have the script down and something we are very proud of, we’ve got a little bit of a plan but two years would be kind of brilliant.”

And who knows, Paul Mescal could even be up for a starring role.
