She even reckons they'd win the show.
Love Island presenter Laura Whitmore has said that she thinks Connell and Marianne, stars of the hit TV series Normal People, would fit right in on the popular dating show. Based on the Sally Rooney novel of the same name, Normal People's central characters have a very on again off again relationship and fans spend much of the series wondering will they end up together - which admittedly, would make for brilliant reality show viewing.
Speaking to Grazia Magazine, the Whitmore said that she thinks Connell and Marianne would be "great" on Love Island.
"They would be great in the Love Island villa. I think it'd be brilliant because they're exactly what you want because they're on a journey... like they're together, they broke up. Can you imagine... they'd definitely be dating other people."
Obviously, Casa Amor would be the true test though. Always a source of drama, Laura reckons Connell would break hearts by coupling up with someone else.
"If he went to Casa Amor, he’d definitely come back with someone else and then she's heartbroken again all over again."
Her money is still on them to win it though. Ours would be too if we're honest... we love a good full-circle ending.
