Liam Gallagher Has Confirmed He’s A True Irishman With One Comment

James Fenton

Here in Ireland, we love nothing better than latching on to the fact we share our heritage with famous people. From Ed Sheeran’s Wexford roots to Will Ferrell’s Longford ancestry, if you’ve any Irish blood in you at all we’re delighted celebrate it. Sure, we even built a fecking shopping centre for Barack Obama.

One family whose Irish lineage is well-documented is the Gallaghers of Manchester, the clan which gave the world feuding Oasis brothers Noel and Liam. The lads’ mother Peggy hails from Co. Mayo and Noel even kicked a ball around Croke Park as a youngster but it now appears that Liam has pipped his older brother when it comes to declaring his Irishness.

The 46-year-old was partaking in one of his Twitter Q&A sessions and when one user questioned whether he was a Walkers or a Tayto man, Liam answered the only way an Irish person could.
