One Brussels sprouts pizza with all the trimmings, please. On second thoughts, maybe not…
Time has lost all meaning this year – anything from March on is a blur and so the fact that November seems to have become the new Christmas doesn’t surprise me all that much. Under normal circumstances, I’d be fighting tooth and nail to ‘protect the magic!’ and keep the festive celebrations until December, but it’s 2020 and anything goes so I’ve decided to root out the fairy lights and embrace it.
Many of my compatriots are doing the same – Brown Thomas has their seasonal window display up, The Bankers is serving their famous festive sambo and L’Gueleton has unveiled their new menu of winter warmers (one Paul Mescal-inspired).
Even the folk at Lidl are feeling festive, with one shopper spotting a very Christmas pizza and it’s interesting, to say the least. One of the supermarket’s veggie offerings, this one comes topped with Brussels sprouts, stuffing, brie and cranberry sauce. All atop a sourdough pizza base.
Like I said… interesting and I can’t help but feel that this is a little like a real-life version of Rachel’s famous beef trifle.

Separately, each ingredient is good. Great, even (yes I actually do like Brussels sprouts despite one of the Lovin team describing them as “Devil’s grapes”). Together on top of a pizza though? Not so sure I can get on board with that.
What say you? Are you for or against the Brussels sprouts pizza? Let us know.
