The new season of the Graham Norton Show will hit TV screens early next month with a star-studded first episode to kick things off.

Graham Norton will return to our tellies at the start of next month with show bosses confirming that the Irish funnyman will be allowed to welcome guests and a live studio audience back on set once more.

Thank God, says you. Let’s face it… the Covid-friendly version of the show didn’t really cut it. Watching Graham video call celebs from an empty room just wasn’t the same – facts are facts.

Thankfully, things will get somewhat back to normal for the new season and Graham will be joined by a live studio audience for the first time pre-lockdown. Ensuring that proper measures are in place to allow for visitor safety, there will be a strict cap on numbers and audience members will be spaced out to allow for social distancing.

Similarly, celebrity guests will make a long-awaited return to the studio, this time joining Graham from individual armchairs instead of one long couch as before. Sadly video calls cannot be completely phased out and guests unable to make it in person, due to travel restrictions and the like, will chat to Graham remotely. You win some, you lose some, eh?

As for the famous Big Red Chair? That will also return so get your funniest stories in.

Already announcing the lineup for the first episode of the new season, there are some pretty big names in there with Dolly Parton, Riz Ahmed, Sara Pascoe, Rupert Everett, Lolly Adefope and Róisín Murphy all set to make an appearance.

The Graham Norton Show returns to  BBC One on Friday, October 2nd at 10:45pm.
