Love Island is going to make a return this summer in a different format

Alan Fisher

Yes, you read that right.

Love Island will return to our screens this summer but in a different format.

We recently found out that this year’s show was canceled due to COVID-19 but they are planning a spin-off show.

According to Buzz.ie, ‘The spin-off series will have a Gogglebox-style format with a string of former contestants watching clips of Love Island’s most memorable moments’.

A source told them that ‘this news is going to thrill Love Island’s millions of fans’.

‘It means they will still get their fix this summer.’

They hope to sign up Megan Barton-Hanson, Olivia Attwood, Kem Cetinay, and Amber Gill.

It won’t be the same, of course, but a mix of Love Island and Googlebox is something we can get behind.

It’s due to air on ITV2 over the summer when the new series would have been on.
