Ah, we always knew she was one of us.
With the resurgence of 90s and noughties nostalgia and a newfound appreciation for the iconic divas of that era, we’ve all been adding a bitta Mariah to our Spotify playlists and dreaming of the day she might bring out some new tunes.
Well, at the moment there are no new songs on the horizon, but can we interest you in a cream based liqueur?
Yesterday evening Mariah took to social media to introduce her lambs to Black Irish, a cream liqueur that’s crafted in Ireland (well, that’s what it says on the bottle anyway but this is the first we’ve heard of it) and comes in three flavours – salted caramel, white chocolate and original. Cut to all the girls and gays of Ireland subtly swapping out their grannies trusty bottle of Baileys for one of these in the lead up to Christmas.
There she is, now, on a beach in Connemara. ? https://t.co/UNWjMk28Qz

True Mariah stans will know of her Irish heritage on her mums side, her mum being Patricia Hickey whose parents emigrated to the States from Cork. I’m sure we could track her down as being our distant cousin once removed if we dug deep enough.
Mariah's low-key Irish heritage is pleasing to me. The fact that her mother is literally called Patricia Hickey always makes me smile https://t.co/SyBELq7xNr

The Black Irish logo is serving typical American/Irish commodity style but with the all-important butterfly reference worked in to remind us who we’re really dealing with. Hook it, and I can’t stress this enough, to my veins.
Side note, imagining Mariah Carey actually uttering the word “Sláinte” is making my day.
No idea if it’s actually going to be available in Ireland yet. If you’re looking to get your hands on a bottle, call in a favour with the Hickeys in Cork.
