These are the seven best movies on TV tonight

James Fenton

Your movies on TV tonight include a spider-pig, a psychological thriller, a spy comedy, a Jim Carrey classic and one of the Scary Movies, for the weekend that’s in it.

After indulging in some Halloween horror last night, there’s plenty of light relief on your telly this evening. Here’s a detailed look at some of the best movies on TV this Sunday night

The Mask – 7pm – Comedy Central

This comedy was released during Jim Carrey’s 1990s heyday and it’s always a reliable one to go back to every once in a while.

The Simpsons Movie – 7.15pm – E4

Let’s face it, The Simpsons has been fairly crap for over two decades now. The 2007 big screen version though has enough laughs to provide some light Sunday entertainment.

Spy – 9pm – E4

A spy comedy starring Melissa McCarthy, Jason Statham and Rose Byrne.

A Quiet Place – 9pm – FilmFour

The acclaimed 2018 horror which is directed by and stars John Krasinski, alongside his wife Emily Blunt. Definitely stick it on if you haven’t seen it yet.

The Fugitive 9pm – TCM

If it’s classic 90s action you’re looking for then you’ve found it.

Scary Movie 3 – 11pm – Comedy Central Extra

The third instalment of the spoof horror franchise. This one parodies The Ring, Signs and 8 Mile among other movies.

Before I Go to Sleep – 11.40pm – Channel 4

Up late? A psychological thriller starring Nicole Kidman is just what you need before you go to sleep.
