Brace yourselves, Michael Fassbender fans – the actor is planning on taking a long break from movies.

In a recent interview with Time Out magazine, the Irish-German star revealed that, after a hectic working schedule over the last decade, it’s about time he took a break. Fassbender said,

It’s been pretty full on. I had a ferocious appetite and energy for it, and I went at it like a maniac. But I’m going to take some downtime now. The last five years, I was verging on being a workaholic. I’ve just been going from film to film.

When asked about whether he’d give up acting entirely, the 39-year-old said: “I’m not ruling it out”.

Fassbender fanatics can take some solace in the fact that he has plenty of movies set to hit the screen in 2017, including Assassin’s Creed, Weightless, Alien: Covenant, and The Snowman.
