Because Bright is expected to be Netflix's best release ever.
And its most expensive.
It was reported that Netflix paid over $90 million for Bright in a bidding war against Warner Bros/MGM and PalmStar.
The first glimpse of the supernatural film was screened at last night's Academy Awards and the reaction was superb.
Smith stars as a cop in a world where humans live side-by-side with fantasy, supernatural creatures, and he partners up with an orc (Joel Edgerton) to embark on a routine night patrol that will alter the future of their world as they know it.
Battling both their own personal differences (human VS orc, duh) as well as an onslaught of enemies, they must work together to protect a young female elf and a thought-to-be-forgotten relic, which in the wrong hands could destroy everything.
The film also stars Noomi Rapace and was directed by David Ayer of Suicide Squad and End of Watch.
It's expected to premiere December 2017 and we cannot flippin' wait.
