WATCH: This Irish Comedy Is Being Called The ‘Feel-Good Movie Of The Summer’

James Fenton

Irish comedy movies have frequently hit the right note with cinema audiences in the past and it looks like this new offering is going to do just that.

Halal Daddy tells the story of young British-Indian Muslim named Raghdan who relocates from Bradford in England to the peaceful surroundings of Co. Sligo.

All is going swimmingly until his no-nonsense dad turns up and buys the local disused meat factory for Raghdan’s 21st birthday present and intends for him to transform it into a halal abattoir.

The movie is directed by Conor McDermottroe and  tars legends of Irish acting Colm Meaney and Deirdre O’Kane. It looks like a great way to spend a couple of hours over what is forecast to be a rain-soaked weekend.
