WATCH: This Timely Film About A Couple Having To Leave Ireland For An Abortion Is In Cinemas Today

James Fenton

It looks like Ireland’s long sunny spell might be over so it could be the perfect weekend to hit the cinema.

If you do, we’ve got what seems like a great movie for you to watch. Twice Shy tells the tale of a young Irish couple who fall in love and fall pregnant and, lo and behold, are forced to travel to England to have an abortion.

The movie stars Shane Murray-Corcoran and Iseult Casey and is directed by Tom Ryan. It also boasts an impressive backing cast with Ardal O’Hanlon and Pat Shortt among others.

It’s picked up rave reviews since premiering at the Galway Film Fleadh last summer and obviously contains a pretty topical subject matter. Also, from watching the trailer, it seems that Twice Shy isn’t short on funny moments either. We’re looking forward to checking it out.
