There’s A Festival Happening In Ireland On Good Friday And The Line-Up Is UNREAL

Darragh Berry

BD Festival is in its 11th year and festival goers can rejoice as the Good Friday festival will be able to serve drink for the first time.

The festival will be opening their gates to punters with a fully stocked bar on Good Friday at Glendalough House and Gardens in Co Wicklow, thanks to the new legislation.

There is also a “BYOB” policy too.

Acts that are playing include: Fleetmac Wood (a DJ collective dedicated to re-edits and originals of Fleetwood Mac), The Magician, Boots & Kats to name but a few.

You can find the full list here.

Spokesperson Brian McDermott told The Irish Sun that: “For the last ten years we have been one of the few events taking place on Good Friday.

“The festival began as a very small event in 2008 with just 400 people and in 11 years it has grown to 4,000, becoming a firm fixture on the Easter calendar.

“Due to the country’s strict licensing laws for Good Friday, we introduced BYO which proved incredibly popular.

“We will continue to operate this policy however we welcome the new licensing legislation which means we can provide full bar facilities, which will give festival goers even more choice and enhance their experience and enjoyment.”

There will also be a selection of stalls down at the festival and if you’re looking to turn your Good Friday into an even better one, you can find more information here
