WATCH: This Song And Video About Mental Health Is Currently Being Talked About All Around Ireland

Darragh Berry

Today, the 10th of September is World Suicide Prevention Day.

It is a day to raise awareness around the topic of suicide and to provide worldwide commitment and action to prevent self-harm and suicide.

Conor Ward, a Mayo musician who is just back from playing Electric Picnic this year, has released a song called ‘Hope’

He told Lovin that “the song is a poignant yet infectiously catchy folk pop track about mental health and overcoming adversity.

“The video was shot by Crude Media in conjunction with Limerick Suicide Watch. It explores the theme of mental health and attempts to raise awareness for all those suffering in silence.”

It’s powerful stuff, take a look:

Conor will be playing three headline shows in October in Whelan’s, Dolan’s and Garbo’s and all the proceeds from the shows will be going towards Pieta House and Limerick Suicide Watch.

Conor has been described as one of “Ireland’s Rising Acts” by Hot Press Magazine so he is definitely one to watch out for in the future.

You can find more information about him and the song ‘hope’ on his Facebook page here.
