Indiependence 2020 looks set to be a cracker

Two headline acts have been confirmed for next year’s Indiependence festival in Cork.

Earlier this week, Norwegian singer Sigrid was announced as Indiependence’s first headliner and it hasn’t taken long for the second headline act to be revealed.

British group The Streets have been confirmed as the second headliner of the Mitchelstown festival, which takes place from 31 July to 2 August, 2020.

Fronted by multi-instrumentalist Mike Skinner, The Streets rose to prominence in the early 2000s following the release of the remarkably popular album Original Pirate Material.

The group has not released an album in eight years although a number of singles have been debuted on streaming services in the last 12 months.

Some of the hits that fans can expect from The Streets when they take to the Indiependence stage next summer include Fit But You Know It, Dry Your Eyes and Blinded By The Lights.

Tickets for Indie 2020 are already on sale, with full price tickets priced at €159. Early bird tickets for the festival have sold out already.

Last year’s Independence was the most successful in the festival’s history, with headline sets from Lewis Capaldi, Biffy Clyro, Catfish & the Bottlemen and Gavin James packing out the Deer Farm site throughout the entire weekend.
