You might want to read on if you're planning on spoiling a loved one with an Ed Sheeran ticket this weekend.

Tickets for the singer's seven Irish gigs in 2018 go on sale this Saturday and Ticketmaster has issued a warning to anyone purchasing one as a gift.

It seems that those who pay for the tickets MUST attend the gig themselves which will come as a disappointment to parents around the land who aren't fans of the much-loved crooner.

A spokesperson said:

“The named cardholder must attend on the night of the event for tickets to be valid.”

Those who attend the gigs in Dublin, Cork, Galway and Belfast will need to produce booking confirmation, credit card and a valid form of ID in order to be allowed entry.
