Nest are the company that were acquired for about $3 billion recently by Google and they are in prime position to be the main player in our new connected homes. That notion is one that nearly all the devices in our house will be connected to the internet and controlled by devices like our smartphone from anywhere in the world. Although there are privacy concerns around devices like this they’ll also make the home safer and make you lose much less energy. As these TV ads show and with NEST launching in countries around the world it is only a matter of time before we are seeing a lot more of these.
