New Irish show asks couples in lockdown some hilariously awkward questions

Rory Cashin

Love in Lockdown will air on Irish TV this week.

Have you been in a relationship during the pandemic? More specifically, have you been living with your partner through lockdown, and discovered some new… how do we put this nicely?… aspects to your significant other? Maybe some certain actions or habits you may not have discovered if it weren’t for living in close proximity for such a long amount of time?

Well, you’re not alone.

New Irish show Love in Lockdown will feature couples from all over Ireland, and each week the episode will focus on two new couples, and ask them increasingly awkward questions about their relationships.

The questions begin innocently enough – “What was I wearing on our first date? What is my favourite song?” – but soon get into the realms of truly awkward, like “Which one of us has the craziest family?” or “What did your Mammy say when you told her we were getting married?”

As the questions get more and more revealing, the contestants will be joined by in-laws, best friends, and everyone in between, y’know… just to REALLY ramp up the pressure of answering these questions honestly.

Love in Lockdown is presented by Eoghan McDermott, and the first of the six-episode series will air on TG4 tomorrow night (Wednesday, November 18) at 8.30pm, or you can catch up at any time on the TG4 website.
