New RTE dating show helping singletons find love in isolation

Brian Dillon

A brand new dating show coming to RTE will help single people find love in isolation, and we’re so here for that.

Listen, us singletons have it hard in isolation! And that’s why we need something like this to help us!

Love In Isolation will arrive on the RTE player in June and sees 12 single people who are quarantining alone find love and romance through the internet.

Produced by EZ Films for the RTE Player, Love In Isolation is recorded from the singletons’ homes via video call. And there is a fun twist.

The daters are set challenges that they must complete, so this could go very smoothly and end up in some seriously romantic connections, or it could go the other, more awkward route. And I would be lying if I said I wasn’t hoping for the latter.

RTE has even introduced us to some of the show’s participants, such as romantic hopeful Savannah Nolan who will be dating Emmet. She said, “I felt quarantine was a great time to try new things and I thought, ‘Why not go on an online dating show too?’ Emmet was all the things I’d asked for down to his green eyes! My friends would consider me to be loud and outrageous, but Emmet almost made me look boring. We were both such high energy and it almost became a competition of who was the most fun and outrageous.”

Contestant Alan, who we will see dating Neil on the new RTE dating show, said, “I had a great time on my date – it was a fun experience and I’d definitely do it again. It might be weird to watch it back on RTÉ Player though, because whoever watches themselves back on a date? Sometimes all we have is a blurred memory! I know this is a difficult time for a lot of people, and hopefully, a bit of light-hearted fun like this will put an infectious smile on your face.”
