Niall Horan pretty much confirms that a One Direction reunion is on the cards

Niall Horan has all but confirmed that One Direction will get back together at some point, saying that “we’d be absolutely ridiculous not to reform the band.”

The Mullingar man was speaking to RTE ahead of the release of his second solo album Heartbreak Weather and seemed extremely positive about the possibility of a 1D reunion. In the interview, he is quoted as saying: “We’d be absolutely ridiculous not to reform the band. We haven’t really spoken about the ‘whens’ but we do know we will. We have all said individually that we will and I think it would be stupid if we didn’t.”

A One Direction reunion would be music to the ears of fans of the boy band who have been on hiatus since 2016. Before that, they were arguably the biggest pop band on the planet, selling out arenas around the world and releasing five studio albums.

Since their temporary break, each member of One Direction has released solo material and Niall’s debut album Flicker even reached number one in the United States.

The group originated in the 2010 edition of The X Factor when Niall was placed into a group with future bandmates Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson. The quintet went on to win over 200 awards around the world but five became four when Malik decided to leave in 2015.

If Niall Horan is to be believed, an end to the hiatus was always on the agenda but fans will just have to wait and see if it materialises.
