Coughlan worked on this alongside fellow Derry Girls co-star Louisa Harland
Clare and Orla have been up to something besides participating in talent shows and destroying chippers. Four months ago, the Instagram page @whistlethroughtheshamrocks appeared, announcing the arrival of a new podcast. Whistle Through The Shamrocks is co-written by Coughlan and playwright Camilla Whitehill.
They already have a fantastic cast lined up, including Louisa Harland who most people will recognise from Derry Girls. The also have Ben Miller (Bridgerton), Kiell Smith-Bynoe (Ghosts), Susan Wokoma (Enola Holmes), and many more, including several Derry Girls alumni, Brenock O’Connor, Paul Millan, and Jamie Beamish.

After a decade of joking about it, best friends Coughlan and Whitehill decided to make a radio play/scripted podcast, propped up by hilarious characters and what’s bound to be a highly comedic story. We personally can’t wait to see what they’ve come up with.
The podcast launches in November.
