Omniplex announce the 15 cinemas around the country opening this Friday

Rory Cashin

Great news for cinema lovers nationwide!

While cinemas are part of the lift in restrictions that allows them to re-open from Tuesday, December 2, there are quite a few things to line-up before they can simply re-open their doors.

They have to get the staff back in, organise the film schedule and get the movies in to each cinema, and then there is all that popcorn to start popping!

So while Omniplex won’t be opening on Tuesday, movie lovers won’t have too long to wait, as they took to social media to announce the reopening dates of some of their cinemas:

“We’re delighted to announce that on Fri 4 December, we will start the phased re-opening of our cinemas across ROI. Showtimes and tickets for our blockbuster line up will be available tomorrow at omniplex.ie

So from tomorrow (Tuesday, December 2), you can check out which movies the opening branches will be showing. And as for which of the branches will be opening, here is the full list of Omniplex cinemas that will be open on Friday, December 4:

  • Arklow
  • Carlow
  • Cork
  • Balbriggan
  • Dundalk
  • Limerick
  • Monaghan
  • Rathmines
  • Roscommon
  • Salthill
  • Shannon
  • Sligo
  • Tralee
  • Waterford
  • Wexford

Meanwhile, the Omniplex cinemas at Drogheda and Longford are due to open on Friday, November 11, with further re-opening dates to be made soon.

Additionally, all safety measures will remain in place including: all tickets must be bought online in advance, in-cinema seat separation (empty seats around your bubble), enhanced cleaning regimes, and sanitisation stations in each cinema.
