The rescheduled dates for Electric Picnic 2021 have been announced.

News of Electric Picnic’s cancellation broke early last week, breaking festivalgoer’s hearts in the process. Holding out for a miracle, many were hopeful that the event would get the green light to go ahead despite the odds however it was not to be and organisers took to social media to announce the news, writing:

“Sadly, Electric Picnic 2020 will no longer be taking place.

Cancelling our festival has become unavoidable, and we fully support the Irish Government’s ongoing measures to help fight the spread of Covid-19 and protect lives at this time.

Whilst the entire Electric Picnic team are terribly disappointed, we have a responsibility to all our fans, artists, crews, suppliers, sponsors, partners and our entire Electric Picnic family including the wonderful people of Stradbally who have welcomed us into their community each year.”

A highlight on the Irish festival calendar each year, it’s fair to say that there are more than a few disappointed faces around the country but organisers have since confirmed the rescheduled dates for next year – giving us more than enough to look forward to.

“Mark those calendars #EP21 3rd – 5th September 2021!”

Ticket refunds are available or customers can opt to retain their ticket for next year – a popular choice given that getting tickets to the festival is a hard enough task as it is. A number of big names were set to take to the stage at this year’s event including the likes of Rage Against The Machine, Snow Patrol, Lewis Capaldi and our own Picture This but it remains to be seen whether all, if any, of the same performers will be reconfirmed for next year’s event.

Let the countdown commence, Electric Picnic 2021 is gonna be a big one.
