PIC: Has A Mermaid Just Been Spotted In Galway?

Ireland’s rich mystical, mythological and cultural heritage has always been an international topic of interest.

Where else could you possibly burn your finger on a barbecued salmon and all of a sudden become the most knowledgable person on Earth? 

And while magical creature are few and far between on Ireland’s roads these days, it doesn’t mean that they do not exist. 

Check out this shot of a ‘mermaid’ over in Indreabhán, in the beautifully rugged far west of County Galway.

Shared by Maitiú Ó Coimín on Twitter earlier, he says he spotted the unknown creature at Cois Fharraige yesterday evening. 

Well, could it be?

For now, we are not sure. But we know that if we were mer-people (and therefore, our own free agents) we’d be spending a lot of time out west too…
