Pure chaos in the best possible way.
Things heated up in the Great British Bake Off tent last night, when the cast of the hit show Derry Girls stepped into the kitchen.
Making a cameo for the festive edition of the popular baking programme, Saoirse-Monica Jackson, Nicola Coughlan, Jamie-Lee O’Donnell, Dylan Llewellyn and Siobhan McSweeney all stepped up to the hot plate.
Derry Girls on Bake Off is the best thing that has ever been on TV. I love them so much #DerryGirls #bakeoff pic.twitter.com/wcS4b648oT

And there was utter mayhem. Not that we expected anything less – especially after host Sandi Toksvig labelled them as “five of the most troublesome people we have ever had in the tent”.
A fairly accurate description I’d say.
Jaime-Lee is brilliant, I too believe canapés are too small and should just be big lmao #bakeoff #GBBO #festivebakeoff #derrygirls

Attempting to impress the judges with their skills, the stars had to make a trifle for their signature challenge while they had to make a two-tiered cake based on their favourite decade for the showstopper.
Things didn’t quite seem to go to plan for many of the contestants making for some hilarious TV viewing and one very messy Bake Off tent.
I can only hope my 2020 is as full of as much laughter as my household watching #bakeoff with the #DerryGirls 😂

Bake Off meets Derry Girls was a stroke of genius. Hands down the best celeb version ever. I’d suggest it as an annual treat if I didn’t fear the cast might have a collective breakdown.#bakeoff #DerryGirls https://t.co/XWH93UkXn6

We fully support calls to make it an annual tradition.
