Rory McIlroy has continued the trend of famous dads having baby girls this week by introducing his daughter Poppy Kennedy McIlroy to the world.
It was revealed last week that Rory McIlroy and Erica Stoll were expecting the arrival of their first baby at any moment after somehow managing to keep the news under wraps throughout Erica’s pregnancy.
Well, the wait is now over for herself and the four-time Major winner after Rory shared the first picture of the couple’s daughter Poppy Kenny McIlroy. The golfer took to social media to share the snap along with the caption: ‘Poppy Kennedy McIlroy, born August 31st, 12:15pm. She is the absolute love of our lives. Mother and baby are doing great. Massive thank you to all the staff at Jupiter Medical Center and Dr Sasha Melendy for their amazing care.’

Poppy was born in Florida, where McIlroy has a property and he has suggested that that’s where he’ll be staying put for the time being as golf takes a backseat to the new arrival. Rory’s news comes after Ed Sheeran revealed that he and Cherry Seaborn had also welcomed a baby girl so it’s a big week for celebrity dads.
