Roy Keane’s latest Instagram caption might be his best one yet

Roy Keane is a man whose career hasn’t been short on controversy but that hasn’t stopped him accumulating millions of fans throughout his spells as a footballer, coach and pundit.

In fact, ever since Roy Keane unexpectedly joined Instagram back in February, his post have been clocking up thousands of likes which is no surprise for a man who seems to attract fascination wherever he goes.

The posts we’ve seen so far include a cycling selfie, a throwback to 1992 with the Republic of Ireland squad and a memory of a famous crisp ad that involved the Corkman dressing up as a leprechaun.

Fans were also delighted to learn that Keano is now a grandfather after a pic of his lookalike grandson was shared to the @officialkeane16 account. That’s just the start of it as in recent days, we’ve discovered that Roy also has a granddaughter meaning that there are at least two children out there who have the honour of calling the former Ireland captain Grandad.

Acknowledging how worshipped he is by football fans, Keano captioned the image in characteristic deadpan style writing: ‘My granddaughter idolises me. I told her to join the queue.’

Looking a lot happier than he often does in the Sky Sports studio, that’s for sure. Keane has recently been linked with the vacant Celtic manager’s job and if he takes it, let’s hope he does us a favour and keeps up the Insta posts.
