The Young Offenders are coming back for a third series, starting on Friday, July 24, RTE has confirmed today.
The national broadcaster has confirmed this afternoon that The Young Offenders will take over the 9.35pm slot on Friday nights on RTE One. The madcap exploits of Conor and Jock during the first two seasons have clearly proven popular enough for a third installment of the smash hit comedy and there will be a couple of new additions to the cast this time around.
Twins Penny and Nola Richardson will play Jock and Siobhan’s new baby Star as the new dad and his best pal ‘continue to navigate their awkward teenage years as they hatch plans to help distract from their tough home lives, work on sustaining their relationships and try to care for the newest family member.’

Speaking about today’s news, The Young Offenders creator Peter Foott said: “We really hope viewers enjoy this third series which we are very proud of. Given that it has been a very difficult time for so many over the last few months, we hope that the series will bring a smile to the faces of our audiences when it’s most needed. The whole team are really excited to have everyone see the new series, it was a labour of love for all our amazing cast and crew.”
Something to look forward to on Friday nights over the next few weeks.
