Santa had an important message for the children of Ireland on Ryan Tubridy’s radio show today

Santa might be busy preparing for Christmas 2020 but he found time this morning to send a message to the children of Ireland via Ryan Tubridy.

Toy Show host Ryan Tubridy was giving an update on what will happen with the annual event this year when he mentioned that one of Santa’s elves had gotten in touch with some pretty sound advice. Even though its only May, any elf will tell you that preparing presents for children is a year-round job and Santa’s source told Ryan that “Because of the corona thing, Santa’s really up to his eyes and he has to make sure that he has orders in early in order for the reindeer and everything and the sleigh to be built properly.”

Ryan added that Santa asked the elf to “say that every year sometimes you can ask Santa for something and send the letter and then say, ‘Oh, I need to change my mind. I don’t want that anymore.’ He’s saying he really would prefer if there was no changing of the mind this year because the delivery situation has mixed things up a little bit.”

So there you are, kids. Santa’s busier than ever this year so to make his life easier, it might be good to pick out what you want nice and early and to try not to change your mind.

As for the Toy Show itself, children needn’t worry about it not going ahead. Ryan said that “We’re thinking about where we’re going to go and what we’re going to do. And wow, we have big plans. It’s going to be as big, if not bigger, than ever, because it’s going to be extra special. Because we have lots of people to be minding and to be loving and to be looking after this Christmas. So we’re going to go all out and make it a very Covid-friendly Toy Show for everybody because I think there’s going to be at that point of the year a need for a lot of love in the world, and that’s where we’re going to be going with it.”

It sounds like there will be plenty to look forward to this festive season then. Bring it on, Santa and Ryan.
