SATURDAY

Quantum of Solace – RTE Two – 8.40pm

James Bond (Daniel Craig) descends into mystery as he tries to stop a mysterious organisation from eliminating a country’s most valuable resource.

Fighting With My Family – Channel 4 – 9pm

A former wrestler and his family make a living performing at small venues around the country while his kids dream of joining World Wrestling Entertainment. Stars Florence Pugh, Vince Vaughn, The Rock, Nick Frost and Lena Headey.

Assassin’s Creed – FilmFour – 9pm

Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) explores the memories of his ancestor Aguilar de Nerha and gains the skills of a Master Assassin, before taking on the secret Templar society.

Robin Hood – Comedy Central – 9pm

A war-hardened Crusader (Taron Egerton) and his Moorish commander (Jamie Foxx) mount an audacious revolt against the corrupt English crown (headed by Ben Mendelsohn).

Brothers – TG4 – 9.45pm

While on tour in Afghanistan, Sam’s (Tobey Maguire) copter is shot down and he is presumed dead. Back home, it is his screw-up brother (Jake Gyllenhaal) who looks after the family, including Sam’s wife (Natalie Portman). Sam does return, but with a lot of excess baggage.

Alien: Covenant – RTE Two – 10.40pm

The crew of a colony ship, bound for a remote planet, discover an uncharted paradise with a threat beyond their imagination, and must attempt a harrowing escape.

99 Homes – BBC One – 11.50pm

A recently unemployed single father (Andrew Garfield) struggles to get back his foreclosed home by working for the real estate broker (Michael Shannon) who is the source of his frustration.

SUNDAY

Legally Blonde – Comedy Central – 7pm

Elle Woods (Reece Witherspoon), a fashionable sorority queen, is dumped by her boyfriend. She decides to follow him to law school. While she is there, she figures out that there is more to her than just looks.

Snatched – FilmFour – 9pm

When her boyfriend dumps her before their exotic vacation, a young woman (Amy Schumer) persuades her ultra-cautious mother (Goldie Hawn) to travel with her to paradise, with unexpected results.

The Martian – E4 – 9pm

An astronaut (Matt Damon) becomes stranded on Mars after his team assume him dead, and must rely on his ingenuity to find a way to signal to Earth that he is alive.

Spanglish – RTE One – 9.30pm

A woman (Paz Vega) and her daughter emigrate from Mexico for a better life in America, where they start working for a family where the patriarch (Adam Sandler) is a newly celebrated chef with an insecure wife (Tea Leoni).

Crank 2: High Voltage – FilmFour – 10.50pm

Chelios (Jason Statham) faces a Chinese mobster who has stolen his nearly indestructible heart and replaced it with a battery-powered ticker which requires regular jolts of electricity to keep working.

Wind River – Channel 4 – 11.10pm

A veteran hunter (Jeremy Renner) helps an FBI agent (Elisabeth Olsen) investigate the murder of a young woman on a Wyoming Native American reservation.
