SATURDAY

Pokemon Detective Pikachu – RTE One – 6.35pm

In a world where people collect Pokémon to do battle, a boy (Justice Smith) comes across an intelligent talking Pikachu (Ryan Reynolds) who seeks to be a detective.

Sweet Home Alabama – Comedy Central – 7.50pm

A young woman (Reece Witherspoon) who’s reinvented herself as a New York City socialite must return home to Alabama to obtain a divorce from her husband (Josh Lucas), after seven years of separation.

Romancing The Stone – ITV4 – 8pm

A mousy romance novelist (Kathleen Turner) sets off for Colombia to ransom her kidnapped sister, and soon finds herself in the middle of a dangerous adventure hunting for treasure with a mercenary rogue (Michael Douglas).

The Greatest Showman – FilmFour – 9pm

Celebrates the birth of show business and tells of a visionary (Hugh Jackman) who rose from nothing to create a spectacle that became a worldwide sensation.

Donnie Brasco – TG4 – 9.20pm

An FBI undercover agent (Johnny Depp) infiltrates the mob (headed by Al Pacino) and finds himself identifying more with the mafia life, at the expense of his regular one.

Crazy Rich Asians – RTE One – 9.30pm

This contemporary romantic comedy, based on a global bestseller, follows native New Yorker Rachel Chu (Constance Wu) to Singapore to meet her boyfriend’s (Henry Golding) family.

Jack Reacher – Virgin Media Two – 10.15pm

A homicide investigator (Tom Cruise) digs deeper into a case involving a trained military sniper who shot five random victims.

Kinky Boots – BBC Two – 11.40pm

A drag queen (Chiwetel Ejiofor) comes to the rescue of a man (Joel Edgerton) who, after inheriting his father’s shoe factory, needs to diversify his product if he wants to keep the business afloat.

Literature professor and gambler Jim Bennett’s (Mark Wahlberg) debt causes him to borrow money from his mother (Jessica Lange) and a loan shark (John Goodman).
