The brand new version of The Chase starts on Virgin Media tomorrow and fans will love it

James Fenton

The Chase is back but not as we know it, with an all-new version called Beat The Chasers set to air on Virgin Media on Monday night.

Fans of The Chase are used to seeing contestants pit their wits against one of the chasers but Beat The Chasers will take things up a notch. Contestants will be faced with the mammoth task of taking on all five chasers at once, meaning it will be even harder to get their hands on the coveted cash prize.

So, how will Beat The Chasers work?

Firsty, contestants will face five multiple-choice questions in the cash builder round in a bid to bank up to £5,000. However, if they get the first question wrong, they’re out. If successful, contestants will then be given the option of playing between two to five chasers. The higher number of chasers they go against at once, the more money is up for grabs. Simple, right? Oh, and contestants are up against a clock and the more chasers they play against, the quicker the time decreases.

The five chasers involved are Mark Labbett (The Beast), Anne Hegerty (The Governess), Shaun Wallace (The Dark Destroyer), Paul Sinha (The Sinnerman) and Jenny Ryan (The Vixen), with Bradley Walsh taking up hosting duties as usual. It was recently announced that Irishman Darragh Ennis will be joining The Chase as the sixth chaser but he won’t be involved in the production of Beat The Chasers.

You can catch the first episode of Beat The Chasers on Virgin Media One at 9pm on Monday.
