The Casual Choir have launched ‘sofa sessions’ – here’s how you can get involved

James Fenton

Dublin’s Casual Choir have launched an initiative called ‘sofa sessions’ which will allow people to take part at home during the ongoing Covid-19 situation.

Usually, the Casual Choir gathers every fortnight with the mantra of having ‘no auditions, no sheet music and no commitment – just fun.’ Basically, it’s exactly what it says on the tin and people can attend whenever they please with no obligation to come back although if it’s as much craic as it looks like, why wouldn’t you?

In these times of isolation, the choir have now launched ‘sofa sessions’ whereby people are invited to send in recordings of themselves singing and it will all be put together by the experts for the world to see.

This will be open to people across Ireland and indeed all over the world so if you’ve never experienced the Casual Choir, there’s no better time to start.

The first tune will be Where The Streets Have No Name by U2 and more details will be released in the coming days. You can stay up to date with the Casual Choir by following them on Instagram here.

Time to warm up those vocal cords!
