The Crown alum Claire Foy will appear in a new period drama

She’s swapping the crown for some other stylish headwear in this new series.

It’s no secret we have greatly missed Claire Foy on The Crown. Though it makes sense to switch out the cast as the queen ages in the series, Foy captivated audiences in her role as Queen Elizabeth II. Her short cameo in Season Four even won Foy an Emmy for Best Guest Actress; she was on screen for less than two minutes. We just cannot get enough of her, which is what makes this latest TV news so exciting.

Foy stars in A Very British Scandal alongside WandaVision actor Paul Bettany. The three part series consists of one hour episodes and focuses on one of the most notorious legal cases of the 20th Century. Bettany and Foy play the Duke and Duchess of Argyll as they proceed with a divorce. This was a real case that took place in the 1960s, and largely vilified the Duchess of Argyll for her sexual relations. This show will serve to shine light on the double standards for men and women at the time. It will also show what an incredibly brave and vibrant woman the Duchess was.

With Claire Foy playing her, we could not be more excited for this. It is coming soon to BBC iPlayer.
