The Date For This Year’s Late Late Toy Show Has Been Revealed

James Fenton

Now that it’s only *checks Google* 125 days until Christmas it really is time we started to get organised.

Before you know it, the tree will be going up and Christmas bonuses across the land will splurged on festive nights out but before that we’ll have to get the Toy Show out of the way.

Here in Ireland, the annual televisual extravaganza is pretty much the unofficial beginning of Yuletide and today the date for the 2019 edition has been revealed. Speaking at the launch of  RTÉ’s autumn and winter schedule, host Ryan Tubridy said that the Toy Show will air on Friday November 29 and added “if we left it any later, you’re getting to the 6th and 7th of December, and actually we got a call from the North Pole and Santa said ‘I don’t have time to get all those toys made because kids watch your show and they write to me’, so it was a time issue.”

Tubs also said that this year’s theme has already been decided but he’s keeping it under his hat for now. He’ll be hard pushed to beat last year’s Greatest Showman intro (below) but he’ll no doubt give it his best shot.

So there you have it. Better start digging out the decorations, folks.
