If you’re ever stuck for a few tunes to listen to, you could do worse than pay attention to Barack Obama’s Twitter feed.
The 44th President of the United States regularly updates his followers with the songs he and his wife Michelle are into and last year, he even gave Wicklow’s very own Hozier a nod.
Yesterday, Mr. Obama unveiled the couple’s summer 2019 playlist which fittingly totals 44 songs. Along with a bunch of recent releases, the pair have included old classics from the likes of The Rolling Stones, Stevie Wonder and Frank Sinatra.
In keeping with Barack’s admiration for Irish artists, Van Morrison’s much-loved 1967 ditty Brown Eyed Girl is in there, as is Fade Out Lines (The Avener Rework)Â by The Avener and Phoebe Kildeer, which was co-written by Dublin musician Craig Walker.
We’re going to go ahead and guess that you’ve heard the former but if you haven’t heard the latter, here it is…
And for the full list see the tweet below…
With summer winding down, here’s a sampling of what Michelle and I have been listening to — some new, some old, some fast, some slow. Hope you enjoy. pic.twitter.com/BS5ri1lvxz
